Ambassador Derek FEELY
Derek Feely is Ireland’s Ambassador to Romania and also to the republics of Moldova and North Macedonia. He has worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade since 1985.
He was the Department’s HR Director from mid-2001 until mid-2006, and again from summer 2010 until summer 2013. He was the Irish Aid Director for West and East Africa from mid-2013 until summer 2015, when he took up his current assignment in Bucharest. His previous foreign posting was as a Counsellor in the Irish Embassy in London, by far Ireland’s largest and busiest bilateral mission, from 2006 until 2010.
